Importance of Your Subconscious Mind

Do you know that often the difference between success and failure is the ability to train your mind to focus on achieving your goals and not to focus on the problems?

It’s been proven by researchers and by some of the most successful people in the world.

Getting your mind to focus and concentrate on success – so that it finds solutions instead of focusing on the problems is usually the difference between success and failure.
Subconscious Mind

In order for to enjoy success – the mind has to be regularly focused on your goals – you can’t stay focused for short bursts and expect to get results.

Think of it this way, you’re riding in a car driven by your personal driver and every time your driver asks you where you want to go you simply say: “I don’t know. Where ever you want to go is fine with me.” Then when your driver takes you to the place of his choice you complain and say: “I don’t want to be here, take me somewhere else.” And again you say you don’t know where you want to go.

Can you see the confusion you would create? Can you see how you would never get to where you want to go because you haven’t trained your driver to automatically take you where you want to go. You haven’t given him the proper instructions.

Your mind and subconscious mind work the same way.

β€œAll of us have our own inner fears, beliefs, opinions. These inner assumptions rule and govern our lives. A suggestion has no power in and of itself. its power arises from the fact that you accept it mentally.”

If you don’t train your mind to focus on your goals then your subconscious mind cannot create the situations that will help you achieve those goals.

Let’s go back to the example of your personal driver. Wouldn’t it be a lot easier and more comfortable if you told your driver where you wanted to go – or even better – your driver knew where you wanted to go ahead of time. But that will only happen when you train your driver by repeatedly telling him where you want to go on a regular basis.

Your subconscious mind is your driver. Your subconscious gets its instructions from the mind – in the form of your thoughts and beliefs.

Give your subconscious the right instructions and it will take you where ever you want to go in life.
The first step is to train your subconscious mind to solve problems. This is basically an attempt to improve your analytical skills. Whenever confronted with a problem which you cannot figure out the possible solution to, let your subconscious mind assume your conscious mind’s responsibility. All you need to do is to think about the problem for a while. You can also write a problem statement and keep reviewing it for a few minutes.

Instill the thought that you want your subconscious mind to drive out the possible solution to the problem. Now stop thinking about the problem altogether and just continue with routine tasks. A solution will eventually click in your mind within a few days; try it as it is highly likely to work out for you. This is how your subconscious mind helps you in resolving problems.

I hope you get some value out of it… I’d look forward to hear from you.

  1. Great post! I’m discovering more and more that my problems are easier to solve than I like to think. Whereas I tend to assume any problem is of massive importance and difficult to get to the bottom of, that usually isn’t the case. Generally, if I state internally that I would like to deal with this problem and that I’m willing to wait for an answer, it does come. I find I’m slowly training my subconscious, just as you suggest. Now I’m working on the critical factor: staying focused all the time, rather than only when I’m inspired. Oftentimes natural enthusiasm carries me through, but when it doesn’t, I have to count on determination and faith that I’ve made the right choice, and stick it out.
